Courses

On your dashboard, you will see a list of all available courses. From here, you can view details of each course and book and pay for courses.

Once you have registered for a course, it will appear in your current courses list on the dashboard, with an indication of your progress,

Once you enter a course, you will see a list of the units available. Although we recommend that you work through the course contents in order, you can choose to dip in and out of the units in any order you choose.

At the end of each course there is an online assessment to complete. You will not be able to begin this assessment until you have visited each of the units within the course.

When you have fully completed a course, it will no longer appear on your dashboard, and will instead be shown in your list of completed courses within your Course History. You can re-access the course content at any time from your Course History if you would like to review what you have learnt. From here you can also access your reflective work and your certificate.

Online assessment

Some of our courses use multiple choice questions (MCQs) to assess your understanding. You will need to score 70% to pass, and can have three attempts at the test. If you do not pass after three attempts, you will have two options:
  • try the assessment on another day - we strongly encourage you to use this time to revisit the source materials.
  • be shown the answers. If you choose this option, you will be able to continue to the reflection and action planning but will not be able to gain a certificate for this course.
Within some courses, we use certainty-based marking to help give you a more effective assessment experience. Certainty-based marking is a new form of multiple choice question which is very easy to use, and designed to help you to think more deeply about what you know. For each question, you will be asked to think about how certain you are that your answers are correct. Your score will be based both on your answer and on your certainty level.

Courses which use certainty-based marking have a full explanation of it along with a practice test to help you to understand the scoring system.

Reflection

At the end of each course you will find a short reflective exercise to help you reflect on what you have learnt. This is an important step in the learning process. This information is saved and can be accessed in future either through your Course History or by returning to the course itself.

Action Planning

There is the opportunity within each course to plan associated actions for each course. All actions are stored to your central Action Plan, which is accessed via the main navigation. You can update actions here once they are complete. You can choose to be alerted by email when an action is due- to switch this off, simply tick the box on the main Action Plan page.

Certificates

At the end of each course that you pass, you will be able to download a certificate. You can access your certificate at any time via your Course History.

Course History

The Course History is your one-stop access to all the information about the courses you have passed and the actions you have completed. On this page you can:
  • see a list of your completed courses - and re-access the contents at any time
  • click to review the reflective work you carried out
  • download your certificate
  • review completed actions
You can also generate a PDF report of your learning activity. Simply set the start and end dates for the period you want to report on, and the system will automatically create a PDF which you can print or save.
